Wow! Where has this past month gone????? I know where all I've gone and it's nearing c-r-a-z-y ...lol
Let's
see, car show in TN for a weekend, family get-together over the 4th, shop tour at work with about 60 guests, car show in OH
for a weekend, car show in IL for a weekend, mini family vacation roaming the countryside of KY.....not to mention, dentist
appts, school visits, city office multiple times (for a building permit), company outing to the local ball field, out of town
lunch to see a friend, spur of the moment dinner with friends in KY, oh yeah and the local street festival....whew, no
wonder I feel a little frazzled!
I have photos of the Super Nova Quilt but silly me...did something goofy with
my data card so have to enlist some help from a more knowledgeable person....my 10 year old could probably figure it out faster
than me :) ....oh well, never too old to learn, right? I enjoyed making that quilt so much that I've decided to make
another one similar to it. I had several ideas for quilting the Nova quilt that I want to try one of them out on this
new version.
I recently read an awesome article about stash organization that I want to work on. I'll let
you know how that progresses once I get it going. I think my current system for large pieces works great but need help
with the scraps. For large yardage (and I have alot of that) I fold it sized like it was on the bolt. Then I have
several 4 drawer office type file cabinets that I use for storage. I sort them by color mostly, unless I buy specifics
for a certain project that I don't want to accidentally cut into for something else (those go together in the "projects"
drawer(s)..lol). After they are folded, I can stand them on edge. Then when I need a piece it is easy to grab.....of
course easy being a relative term as my stash has over flowed "just a bit" and I have some of it stacked in front
of my filing cabinets....there comes the reason for a building permit..

This being our first weekend home since Memorial Weekend, I hope the weather goes our way, we've had sooooo much
rain. Guess I need to get back to the laundry, kids are hungry...again.... and Mother Hubbard's cupboards are bare.....
Super Nova update, blocks are cut, pressed, trimmed and ready to sew together. However it was 80 degrees and absolutely GORGEOUS weather
here yesterday so didn't stay inside all day. I'm still thinking about moving my sewing machine to the patio...
