Super Nova Custom Quilt
I started on the Super Nova Hot Rod Quilt today. This will be given away (along with the Super Nova Giveaway Car) at
the Goodguys Show in Columbus mid July. This custom quilt will coordinate with the colors of the Super Nova, butternut
yellow, black and a small orange pinstripe. May sound "Halloweenish" but it's not, I found this great floral
on a black background that I really like. The design will be a large center star (Super Nova) surrounded with the orange
pinstripe followed by more of the black/floral for a border. As with any custom piece I do, sometimes the fabric
or pattern speaks to me as it's in progress so you never know what tweaks will be made along the way.

That's the fun part for me! Stay tuned for more photos as the quilt progresses.

Here it is Monday already! Spent the weekend in southern Michigan, what beautiful country....lots of storms and REALLY
HOT tho. Didn't have an opportunity to fabric shop or do any sewing but got to draw out a few designs that have been
on my mind for awhile. Spent time visting with friends and just relaxing with a good book. Tonight it is laundry
and pressing some fabric for the next quilt, I am ready to be back at the machine!

Wow! Can you believe this midwest weather we are having?? You need a jacket, umbrella, rubber boots, shorts, a tank
top and sunscreen all in the matter of a couple hours! Our family has been on the road quite a bit the past 2 weeks
touring the country side in one of our hotrods. Every American should get out there and do this to experience the history
and people of our country....we have been fortunate to see alot of things and meet alot of wonderful people.
All that traveling around means that not much sewing or quilting is going on in the shop. Oh well, we all need
to experience life! So while the sun is shining, I'm heading outside again :)
I do have a new quilt in the
works, this one to go with a car that is soon to leave us .... you know, the husband gets the car and the wife gets a
quilt....ladies keep that in mind the next time you hear, "honey I saw this great car I'd like to buy...."
We can help him get YOUR quilt to coordinate with his car. And gentlemen, if you want another car, we can get a
quilt in the works...let your wife know you were thinking of her too!
Have a great weekend!

Busy day yesterday....quilted a crib size embellished angels wall hanging and a dalmation baby blanket. Weather is too
nice to be inside again today so it's out to the garden for awhile.
Have a happy weekend!

Inspiring Guild Meeting
We had Show & Tell night at the quilt guild meeting tonight. Wow! What a talented bunch of women. From
first time piecers to the seasoned quiltmakers. Purses, totes, quilts of all shapes and sizes, wall art, table wear,
miniatures and even yo-yo jewelry. It was so inspiring....makes me want to sleep with my sewing machine....
I showed a t-shirt quilt I pieced and long arm quilted for a graduation gift, my paper piecing class wall hanging
project...on steroids because I turned it into a king size quilt, and my completed Death By Chocolate wall art piece.
(In progress pic in last blog entry.) As I continue working on my web site pages, I will post pics of these items....may
be ready later this week. I've got a baby quilt to make and quilt this week too...along with haircuts, VBS and swimming
activities for the kids.....but wouldn't trade time with my kids for anything.

Have a great evening!
